Roanoke families are a short drive up US-24 from Bussick Orthodontics’ Southwest office at 7207 Engle Rd, the home base of our practice. Dr. Timothy J. Bussick has treated children, teens, and adults from southwest Fort Wayne, Aboite, and the surrounding communities since 1997, with braces, Invisalign, and early treatment planned around each patient’s growth.

The Closest Bussick Office to Roanoke

Our Southwest Fort Wayne office on Engle Rd sits on the side of town nearest Roanoke, which keeps routine adjustment visits quick. The North office on Coldwater Road offers the same care if that works better on a given day, and (260) 436-2255 reaches both. Patient hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Friday is an administrative day, so no patients are seen.

Starting Early: A First Check by Age 7

Dr. Bussick and the American Association of Orthodontists recommend that children be seen by age 7, when many orthodontic problems can be spotted early enough to avoid more extensive treatment later. If your child shows a jaw discrepancy, Phase I treatment uses appliances to guide jaw growth and make room for the permanent teeth. Otherwise, Dr. Bussick will simply monitor growth and start when the timing is right. Our page on early orthodontic treatment explains how the two phases work.

Braces and Invisalign for Roanoke Patients

Braces work for nearly every age and nearly every bite. Patients choose silver or clear brackets, then pick new elastic tie colors at almost every visit, and today’s traditional braces are smaller and more comfortable than braces in the past. Visits are every six to eight weeks.

For patients who prefer aligners, Invisalign from a Diamond Top 1% provider is available for patients as young as 7, as well as for teens and adults. The trays come out for meals and brushing, and check-ins are spaced 12 to 16 weeks apart, keeping time away from school and work to a minimum.

Help for Parents of Young Aligner Patients

Parents of younger Invisalign patients often wonder how they will know whether the trays are actually being worn. We offer stickers that kids can put on their aligners, which makes it easier for parents to keep track and monitor wear, and the stickers are fun for kids too. Combined with fewer office visits, that makes aligners a realistic option for some Roanoke children, depending on what Dr. Bussick finds at the exam.

Braces patients have their own motivation. Every patient earns punches on an Ortho Buck card for things like on-time arrivals and good hygiene, and cards can be traded for prizes at any visit.

When treatment ends, retainers protect the result. Plan on daily wear for the first six months, then every night for life. Roanoke patients can visit the Engle Rd office for fittings, repairs, and replacements.
