For Decatur and Adams County families, Bussick Orthodontics offers specialist orthodontic care from Dr. Timothy J. Bussick, who has practiced in Fort Wayne since 1997. Patients coming up US-27 are usually seen at our Southwest office on Engle Rd for braces, Invisalign, and more specialized care, starting with a free consultation.

Why Decatur Families Make the Drive

An orthodontist has the extensive, specialized training and the additional years of education that detailed treatment planning requires. Dr. Bussick earned his D.D.S. at the top of his class at Indiana University School of Dentistry, completed his Master’s in Orthodontics at the University of Michigan, and received the Harry Sicher First Research Award for his master’s research. He is a past president of the Indiana Association of Orthodontists, and he sees every patient himself.

Every smile in our before-and-after gallery belongs to one of our own patients, and the practice holds a 4.9-star rating across more than 660 Google reviews.

Care for Kids, Teens, and Adults

A first orthodontic check by age 7 lets Dr. Bussick monitor growth and recommend Phase I treatment only for children who show a jaw discrepancy; learn more about early treatment for kids. Teens choose between silver or clear braces and Invisalign from a Diamond Top 1% provider. For grown-ups, it is never too late: as long as your teeth and gums are healthy, adult braces and Invisalign can straighten your smile at any age.

Specialized Orthodontic Care

Dr. Bussick was one of the founding members of the Kids First Clinic in Fort Wayne and provides orthodontic care for cleft lip and palate, coordinated with the rest of a child’s care plan. Families from across Northeast Indiana rely on that experience.

He also evaluates jaw pain. Problems in the temporomandibular joint can cause ear or jaw pain, clicking, or headaches, but many daily headaches are actually muscle pain, migraine, or chronic daily headache. That is why accurate diagnosis comes first, and why conservative TMJ disorder treatment is often the most effective route to long-term relief.

The Office Decatur Patients Use

Our Engle Rd office at 7207 Engle Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46804 is the closer of our two locations for Decatur. A second office at 10506 Coldwater Rd serves Fort Wayne’s north side, and (260) 436-2255 reaches both. Patient hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with Friday set aside as an administrative day.

Making the Most of Each Trip

Because Decatur families are driving in, we try to make every visit count. Your free consultation includes the exam, digital x-rays, and photos in one appointment, and if you decide to begin treatment that day, we reserve time at the end of the visit to get started. Braces adjustments are every six to eight weeks, while Invisalign check-ins are every 12 to 16 weeks for patients who want fewer drives. Most minor problems between visits, such as a poking wire, can be resolved over the phone.

Planning for Cost

We keep orthodontic fees affordable without cutting corners on care. Your fee depends on your treatment plan and is set after the complimentary exam. If full payment is made at the start of treatment, we offer a fee discount; otherwise, payments can be extended interest-free over a period of months following a down payment. We accept cash, checks, credit and debit cards, and HSA or FSA cards, and our team will file your insurance claim. Read more about our payment options. Please note that we are unable to file with Medicaid or file medical claims for TMJ patients, though we provide documentation to help you file yourself.
